Description
Gly Lamprogue is the second son of the noble Lamprogue family. From a young age, he demonstrated a natural talent for magic, specifically being able to cast mid-level spells when many others could not. This early aptitude fostered a strong sense of pride and superiority, which became the foundation of his personality.
In his youth, Gly is defined by his arrogance and bossy demeanor. He firmly believes his magical talent makes him inherently better than those around him, a belief he weaponizes against his younger brother, Seika Lamprogue, who shows no apparent magical ability. Gly treats Seika with open disdain and aggression, unable to accept that someone without magic could have any value. His cruelty also extends to Yifa, a slave in the Lamprogue household, whom he torments and looks down upon because of her status. Despite his boasts and bullying, Glys courage is not equal to his pride. When a monster attacks the family manor, revealing a real danger, he is the first to flee rather than fight, a moment that starkly contrasts with his usual bravado.
This incident becomes a turning point. After Seika, despite having no magic, manages to deal with the monster, Gly refuses to acknowledge his brothers success. Their father, Blaze Lamprogue, confronts Gly about his lack of progress and his failures. As a result, while Seika and Yifa are given the chance to take the entrance exam for a prestigious magic school, Gly is instead ordered to join the imperial army. Enraged by what he sees as an unfair slight, Gly challenges Seika to a duel. Unable to accept even the terms of the official match, he attacks Seika on his own the night before and is defeated.
This forced path into the military, which initially feels like a punishment, ultimately becomes the making of him. Over the next two years, Gly discovers that the life of a soldier suits him far better than he expected. He applies himself, hones his natural magical gifts into practical combat skills, and becomes a highly skilled magic warrior, eventually rising to the rank of squad leader. His abilities are recognized when he is scouted to become a holy knight, serving directly as an aide to Fiona Urd Alegreif, an imperial princess.
When Gly returns to the Lamprogue estate and reunites with Seika, the change in him is clear. He is now more mature, both mentally and physically. He no longer scoffs at Seikas abilities but instead shows them a grudging respect, especially after witnessing his brother win a martial arts tournament. He and Seika develop a more balanced, if still sharp-tongued, brotherly relationship, speaking as rivals who are no longer enemies. Gly still harbors a desire to challenge Seika again to prove himself, but he ultimately accepts it when Fiona forbids him from doing so. His story is one of being humbled by his own failures and finding a genuine sense of purpose and self-worth not through inherited status, but through earned skill and discipline. His notable abilities include his inherent mid-level magic, which he has refined into powerful combat techniques as a magic warrior, alongside his tactical leadership as an officer and his physical and mental fortitude gained through military training.
