TV Special
Description
Eiichi Otori is a prominent idol and the leader of the rival idol group HEAVENS. He stands at 185 cm tall, and his appearance is marked by ash-brown hair styled in a manner reminiscent of a classical prince, coupled with sharp purple eyes. His most distinguishing features are his black, thick-rimmed glasses and a small beauty mark located beneath the right corner of his mouth.

As the eldest son of Raging Otori, the formidable president of Raging Entertainment, Eiichi carries the weight of immense expectation. He is supremely confident and possesses a high sense of self-importance, firmly believing in the superiority of his group, HEAVENS. This outward narcissism, however, is suggested to be a byproduct of the intense pressure placed upon him by his father, leading him to measure his self-worth against others. Deeply passionate about music, he can become overly zealous in his pursuit of the ultimate song, a passion that sometimes borders on emotional manipulation. When excited or satisfied, he is known to enthusiastically exclaim his catchphrase, Good. Despite his pride and manipulative tendencies, Eiichi genuinely cares for his bandmates, acting as a responsible support system and often blaming himself if they are hurt. He can also crack under pressure, particularly when confronted with his father's emotional manipulation, and has shown contrition upon realizing he has gone too far in his methods.

Eiichi's primary motivation is to achieve the highest form of musical expression and to prove the dominance of HEAVENS. This drive is intrinsically linked to surpassing the legacy of his father, Raging, who lost a significant idol competition to Shining Saotome in the past. Eiichi aims not just for victory, but to secure what he sees as the best elements for his group, notably the talented composer Haruka Nanami. From their first encounter, he was impressed by her skill and demanded that she become HEAVENS songwriter, treating her as a coveted prize.

Within the story, Eiichi serves as a primary rival to the main idol group STARISH. His role becomes particularly central during the Duet Project between HEAVENS and STARISH, where he is paired with Otoya Ittoki. Claiming it was fate they were paired, Eiichi pushes Otoya to write a soul-shaking song by confronting his true-self. He invites Otoya to his private villa and reveals he has conducted background research on him, a tactic that mentally breaks Otoya by exploiting his past emotional scars. While Eiichi initially believes this harsh method is necessary to achieve an ultimate song, he is visibly shocked when his father praises him for breaking Otoya. This moment forces Eiichi to realize he went overboard, and he later shows relief when Otoya recovers his resolve.

Eiichi's key relationships define his character arc. His relationship with his father, Raging, is complex and fraught with tension. While he shows respect for him, he also defies Raging’s most despicable methods, insisting on beating rivals fairly. When Raging suspends HEAVENS from work as punishment for this defiance, Eiichi is momentarily convinced he must submit, only to be stopped by his own group members. His relationship with his younger brother and fellow HEAVENS member, Eiji Otori, is more caring; though Eiichi can become annoyed with him, he shows affection in his own way. His dynamic with Haruka Nanami evolves from viewing her as a possession to a more professional, albeit still competitive, relationship as the composer for the duet project. Finally, the duet with Otoya Ittoki is pivotal, transforming from a predatory manipulation into a genuine, though hard-won, mutual respect, culminating in them performing together in solidarity.

Throughout the series, Eiichi demonstrates notable development. He begins as an antagonist who employs psychological tactics to win, but he evolves by recognizing the damage his actions cause and actively defying his father’s toxic legacy to forge his own path as a fair and honorable rival. As an idol, Eiichi’s abilities are considerable. He is a skilled and passionate singer, capable of leading his group with authority. His most notable ability, however, lies in his psychological acuity; he is adept at analyzing people and pushing them to their emotional limits, a skill he wields in his relentless quest to create music that shakes the soul.
