Indrah wields significant trust and authority as the highest advisor to Lady Vishnu, ruler of Tenkūkai, within the celestial hierarchy. Despite this esteemed position, he secretly spies for the Asura Gods, the destructive forces threatening the realm. This hidden allegiance fuels his central betrayal: Indrah petrifies Lady Vishnu using dark Sohma energy, then frames Shurato Hidaka and Hyūga for the act to eliminate them as obstacles. This framing turns most of Tenkūkai's warriors and the Hachibushu against Shurato and Hyūga, cementing Indrah's iron grip over the realm in Vishnu's absence. Indrah further manipulates Gai Kuroki, Shurato's best friend, who was corrupted by Shiva's dark Sohma during his teleportation to Tenkūkai. Exploiting Gai's transformed, hostile state, Indrah directs him to assassinate Shurato and other targets, weaponizing Gai's combat prowess to enforce the fabricated narrative of Shurato's guilt. This manipulation intensifies the conflict between the protagonists and the corrupted Hachibushu. Indrah's actions ultimately serve Shiva, the Goddess of Destruction and the greater antagonist. Shiva's influence emerges as the driving force behind Indrah's betrayal, positioning him as a subordinate within a larger scheme to destabilize Tenkūkai and seize the power of Brahma, the creator deity. Indrah's role diminishes after Vishnu's petrification and the exposure of his treachery, with Shiva becoming the primary threat in later arcs. The character draws loose inspiration from the Hindu deity Indra, reimagined as a duplicitous chancellor whose betrayal catalyzes the series' conflict.
