Description
Eris is a holy knight and a central figure within the world of Reborn to Master the Blade: From Hero-King to Extraordinary Squire. She is distinguished by her status as a Hyrule Menace, a special type of Artifact user that grants her immense power and a unique form of longevity. Despite having lived for many years and decades, she maintains the appearance of a young, beautiful woman with long blonde hair accented by blue ribbons. Her typical attire consists of a female knight's armor, a blue cape, and brown long boots.

As a knight, Eris possesses a powerful and unwavering sense of justice. She is strong-willed and demonstrates considerable loyalty to the order of holy knights, once refusing an invitation to join the Steelblood Front specifically because their scheme would result in innocent casualties. Her personality carries a stern and sometimes harsh edge; she is not afraid to be direct, having once slapped her former partner, Leon, in the face. Eris takes betrayal very seriously and is determined to see those who betray trust, like Leon, brought to justice. She prefers to handle difficult missions on her own and does not want others to get involved or put at risk, at one point insisting that the protagonist, Inglis, leave so Eris could deal with a threat by herself. Despite this solitary tendency, she is honorable and good-natured, willing to cooperate when the situation demands it, such as when she teamed up with Inglis to defeat a monstrous enemy.

Eris's primary motivation stems from her strong moral compass and her duty as a holy knight. She is driven to protect people and stop those who would cause harm. A significant personal goal is to track down and arrest her former partner, Leon Olfa, after he is revealed to be a spy for the Steelblood Front. She pursues this mission with relentless determination, promising to see him behind bars. Her actions are also guided by a desire for redemption and closure, as seen when she seeks to personally deal with Rahal, a Highlander seeking revenge, to put an end to the terror he has unleashed.

In the story, Eris initially avoids the main characters, Inglis Eucus and Rafinha Bilford, but circumstances force an alliance. She plays a crucial role as a temporary ally and a formidable combatant. Her relationship with Inglis is particularly notable; while she tries to exclude Inglis from a fight for her own safety, she ultimately fights alongside her as an equal. The two are shown to be physically matched, able to fight each other to a standstill and later combine their strength to overwhelm a powerful monster by kicking it simultaneously. Eris also has a close friendship with Ripple, another holy knight and a fellow Hyrule Menace. She is also acquainted with Rafael, Inglis's cousin. Her former partnership with Leon Olfa adds a layer of personal conflict to her journey, as his betrayal becomes a driving force for her actions.

Throughout the series, Eris's role as a Hyrule Menace is a key element of her character. While she is biologically immortal, retaining her youth over the centuries, she is not invincible and still feels pain like an ordinary human. In later story developments, Eris is depicted as an older model of Hyrule Menace, described as equivalent to a Type-40 TARDIS in a world of newer, more powerful machines. This leads to her becoming damaged in battle, requiring repairs from the Highland Nation and sending the protagonists on a quest to fix her. A significant part of her backstory, revealed in a later volume, involves a dark and traumatic past that predates her becoming a Hieral Menace. This history, which includes an instance of sexual assault, serves as a stark contrast to the more privileged life of the reincarnated hero-king, Inglis.

Eris possesses a range of notable abilities. As a Hyrule Menace, she has immense physical strength, allowing her to fight equally with Inglis, who is the reincarnation of the legendary Hero-King. She also has incredible speed and is a highly skilled swordswoman, wielding twin swords with great proficiency. In addition to her combat skills, her nature as a Hyrule Menace grants her the unique ability to transform into a weapon at will. Her most defining trait is her longevity, having lived for many years while retaining her youthful form, a direct consequence of her status as a Hyrule Menace.
