Description
Ceres is a supporting character from the isekai anime and light novel series Butareba: The Story of a Man Turned into a Pig. She is a thirteen-year-old girl who works at an inn located in the village of Vappsas. Ceres is a member of the Yethma, a persecuted race in the world of Mesteria whose members are forced to live wearing collars. She has blonde or yellow hair cut to ear-length and yellow eyes, and her appearance is that of a young adolescent.

In terms of personality, Ceres is depicted as reserved, shy, and innocent. She tends to be quiet and somewhat timid in her demeanor. Despite her shyness, she is helpful, as she agrees to guide the protagonists, Jess and the pig named Mister Pig, to the location of a monastery that had burned down five years prior to the story's events. She is also aware that Mister Pig is actually a human trapped in an animal's body, a secret she shares with Jess.

Ceres plays a key role during a stop in the protagonists' journey. When Jess and Mister Pig visit her village, Ceres encounters them and becomes their guide to the ruins of the monastery. This location is significant because it is where she knows the huntsman Naut can be found. Ceres holds romantic feelings for Naut, a young man who was in love with a woman named Yethma Eise before she was killed. Her motivation is tied to these personal emotions; she feels sad about the prospect of Naut leaving the village to accompany Jess and Mister Pig to the capital, as she wishes for him to stay. One of her notable actions in the story is asking Mister Pig to reveal his true identity as a transformed human to Naut.

Ceres's key relationships are primarily with Naut and Jess. She has a noticeable crush on Naut, which is a significant part of her personal story. She also shares a bond with Jess, as both are Yethma girls, and she trusts Mister Pig enough to confide in him about her feelings. Regarding her abilities, Ceres does not possess any distinctive magical or combat powers. Her primary functions within the narrative are as a local guide and a means to provide insight into the world's backstory and the feelings of its side characters.
