Description
General Tsu, also known as Tsuguo Ushirozawa, is the primary antagonist of Unofficial Sentai Akibaranger Season Tsuu, serving as the leader of the villainous organization Baros LOL (New Dimensional Intellect Remodeling Underground True Empire). His name, Tsuu, is a pun on the word for pain, which serves as the season's subtitle. On the surface, he leads a completely ordinary life as a dental technician, running a small dental clinic that secretly functions as his hideout. This clinic is notably filled with an extensive collection of Super Sentai villain memorabilia, reflecting his true nature.

In terms of personality, General Tsu is best understood as the villainous mirror image of the hero Akiba Red, Nobuo Akagi. Like Nobuo, he is an obsessive and deeply knowledgeable otaku of the Super Sentai franchise, but his passion is focused exclusively on the villains rather than the heroes. He possesses an encyclopedic understanding of Sentai tropes, episode structures, and monster designs, which he uses to craft his elaborate schemes. He has a profound love for the artistry of villainy, particularly admiring the way classic Sentai villains meet their end in battle with dramatic flair and beauty. This appreciation extends to real-life stunt actors, and he holds immense respect for veterans like Yoshinori Okamoto, whose iconic villainous roles he idolizes. Despite his villainous role, he is portrayed with a comedic and relatable passion, making him a fan-favorite antagonist who is less purely evil and more a fan indulging his darker interests.

General Tsu's primary motivation is not conquest in the traditional sense, but rather to use the power of Baros LOL to reshape reality and delusion according to his own villainous fantasies. He is driven by a desire to create the perfect Sentai narrative from the perspective of the enemies. His schemes are consistently meta-textual, as he attempts to force the Akibarangers into following classic Sentai plot structures, often to exploit predictable weaknesses like the timing of a new mecha debut or the tropes of seasonal episodes. He finds great satisfaction in engineering situations that pay homage to the villains he admires, and he seeks revenge when his meticulously planned scenarios are disrupted by the heroes' unpredictable actions.

His role in the story is as the master planner and creator of the various monsters of the week that the Akibarangers face. Unlike his subordinate, the more chaotic and self-serving Malseena, General Tsu is the strategic mind of Baros LOL. He is directly responsible for creating many of the Dimensional Beasts that attack the Delusion World, often employing unconventional methods. For instance, he uses motion capture technology to record the movements of veteran stunt actor Yoshinori Okamoto, allowing him to create a monster, Mutoumushite, that could perfectly replicate the fighting styles of several classic Sentai villains. His most significant role comes into play when he traps the Akibarangers in his own personal Delusion World, a realm he has complete control over. In this space, he creates fake scripts to force the heroes through Sentai-themed delusions, such as a beach episode, a wedding episode, and a race episode, intending to exhaust them and destroy their mecha at the most opportune time.

Key relationships define his interactions within the series. His primary dynamic is with his fellow Baros LOL member, Malseena. Their partnership is often contentious, as Malseena is more interested in her own self-serving and adult-oriented schemes, frequently defying his orders or acting out of turn. Despite this, they are forced to work together, and General Tsu has been known to punish her defiance, such as trapping her in an acrylic box as a direct reference to a similar punishment from Hikari Sentai Maskman. He also forms a direct connection to the Akibarangers. They eventually discover his secret identity as Tsuguo Ushirozawa and confront him at his dental clinic, leading to their final battle in his delusion world. He also has a relationship with the wider world of Sentai production, as demonstrated when he hires stunt actors to capture data for his monsters.

Regarding his development, General Tsu begins the season as a seemingly mysterious and powerful leader who operates from the shadows. As the story progresses and the heroes investigate him, his ordinary human identity as a dental technician is revealed, which serves to ground his character. His obsession and his methods become more desperate as his plans are consistently foiled by the Akibarangers' resilience and the unpredictable nature of their own delusions. In the climax of his plan, he is shown to have a strange, unexplained connection to a hospitalized man who is glimpsed throughout the season. After the final battle in his delusion world, the Akibarangers find his real body lying unresponsive on the floor of his clinic, suggesting a severe consequence for his defeat.

General Tsu possesses a number of notable abilities that make him a formidable opponent. As a genius planner, his greatest weapon is his encyclopedic knowledge of Super Sentai, allowing him to predict and manipulate events to his advantage. He has the power to create new monsters and, more impressively, can manifest his own Delusion World. Within this personalized reality, he has near-absolute control, enabling him to prevent the Akibarangers from transforming or escaping and to enforce scripted narratives upon them. It is also revealed that, like the Akibarangers, he possesses his own version of the Moya Moya Z-Cune, a device that allows him to physically enter the Delusion World and become a true player in the conflict.
