Matataki Raimon is a main character in Stardust Telepath and a classmate of Umika Konohoshi. She is a tomboyish high school girl with a strong aptitude for mechanics and robotics. Her passion for building machines, particularly robots, was met with ridicule from her peers during middle school, which left her embittered and caused her to develop an aggressive, solitary disposition. At the start of the story, she keeps to herself, often skipping school to work on her projects, and claims to be interested only in what she finds personally engaging. Despite her blunt and defensive exterior, she is an exceptionally skilled engineer who has earned a model rocket license. When Umika, Haruno Takaragi, and Yuu Akeuchi begin their rocket-building project, Matataki initially refuses to join. However, over time she is moved by Umika's sincerity and determination, eventually agreeing to become part of the team. She becomes the group's indispensable technical backbone, applying her mechanical knowledge to design and construct the rocket. Through her involvement with the rocket club, Matataki gradually opens up, begins to trust others, and learns to work alongside friends. Her notable abilities include advanced mechanical engineering, robotics construction, and practical rocketry skills.
