Description
Jun Fuyumi is a sixteen-year-old high school student and a member of the idol unit High×Joker under 315 Production, where he serves as the keyboardist. Hailing from Yamanashi prefecture, his birthday is January 2nd, and his blood type is B. He is characterized by his black hair and black eyes, with a distinct short hairstyle that features a piece of hair sticking out at the side.

Jun has a background as a piano prodigy, earning him the childhood nickname "prodigy Jun Fuyumi". However, an unspecified past hand injury, which occurred during an accident where he protected his childhood friend, significantly dampened his enthusiasm for music and led to a period of disengagement. Due to this, he primarily plays the keyboard to fit High×Joker's pop-rock sound rather than the piano. Originally a reluctant participant, he joined his high school's Light Music Club at the invitation of Hayato Akiyama, agreeing primarily to support his socially challenged childhood friend, Natsuki Sakaki. This decision marked a rare step beyond his usual tendency to avoid activities he deemed bothersome.

In terms of personality, Jun is the studious and serious voice of reason of his unit. He has a strict, no-nonsense demeanor and typically takes a logical approach to situations. He speaks mostly using formal language but often serves as the straight man, or "tsukkomi," offering sharp retorts to his fellow members' antics. While he can be blunt and critical, he is also quick to offer sincere praise and thanks, though he becomes visibly flustered and embarrassed when he is the one receiving compliments. He prides himself on hard work and perseverance, hating any form of leniency or half-hearted effort, and he is a high-achieving student whose academic scores are well within range for the University of Tokyo. He frequently has to remind his bandmates, especially Shiki Iseya and Haruna Wakazato, to focus on their studies and responsibilities. Outside of music, his hobbies include reading, with a preference for pure literature, biographies, historical novels, and poetry anthologies, and he enjoys classical music and coffee. He also has a secret fondness for cats, which he gets very flustered about if someone points it out.

Before becoming an idol, Jun was hesitant to try new activities, but forced himself to step out of his comfort zone when Hayato asked him to join the Light Music Club. His primary motivation was his protective dynamic with Natsuki, his childhood friend who has trouble interacting with others aside from Jun. Jun often feels responsible for guiding Natsuki and wishes to see him break out of his own shell and succeed as an idol. His role within High×Joker is that of a pragmatic anchor, often clashing with the more unconventional and outlandish ideas of Shiki Iseya, though he frequently ends up getting involved despite himself. He holds a deep respect for Hayato's songwriting and considers his bandmates to be important comrades, believing that performing with them is a genuinely joyful experience.

Jun’s development throughout the story centers on overcoming his disillusionment and withdrawn tendencies. Initially joining the Light Music Club and later 315 Production with reluctance after Hayato's initiative, he is forced to confront his past setbacks and emotional barriers. Natsuki observes this evolution, noting that Jun has changed greatly into a "new Jun" who is more open to trying new things and taking risks. He no longer sees his work as an idol as a burden and has learned to genuinely appreciate and enjoy the experience, finding something he can be truly absorbed in. His growth is also reflected in his family life; his father is initially strict, works long hours, and is opposed to Jun spending time on idol activities. However, after seeing how much Jun's bandmates care for him, Jun's father comes to accept his son's career path and silently supports him. Despite his initial lack of athletic ability, Jun is also notable for his determination, having undergone intense training that significantly improved his physical fitness, allowing him to compete effectively in a judo tournament and even take on leading action roles in films.
