Description
Schwarz von Liechtenstein Lohengramm began as a Japanese high school student reincarnated into a fantasy world after being summoned by the Goddess of Night, one of twelve divine pillars. His original Japanese name is undisclosed and hidden, replaced by his self-proclaimed grandiose identity. Like other summoned heroes, he received divine blessings embodying his chuunibyo persona—adolescent delusions of grandeur.

He wields the holy sword Gram, a jet-black two-handed blade exceeding one meter in length, conjured by the Goddess of Night in response to his wishes. Gram possesses the conceptual ability to "cut anything," including intangible entities like light rays. Schwarz initially lacks full comprehension of its capabilities, often employing it sheathed to avoid killing. His combat effectiveness diminishes when fear takes hold, sometimes preventing him from drawing the sword entirely. Gram sustained near-destruction during a confrontation with one of the Demon King's generals, later regenerating using materials from the defeated foe's armor.

Endowed with the maximum potency "Blessing of the Goddess of Night," Schwarz serves as her designated representative to defeat the Demon King. His skills include passive abilities: Hunter (Level 3), Smash (EX rank), Spirit (Level 1), Survival (Level 1), and Poison Resist (Level 1)—the latter acquired after enduring solitary wilderness survival where he consumed toxic substances. Active abilities include "Night's Echo of the Blood," "To The Night," and "Table Tennis." A goddess's coat of arms is etched onto the back of his right hand, symbolizing his covenant and enabling him to summon the Goddess of Night.

Personality-wise, Schwarz adopts a heroic archetype of courage, self-sacrifice, and bravery when confronting danger or aiding the vulnerable. This persona acts as a psychological defense mechanism, prompting impulsive actions without rational assessment. His delusional tendencies manifest in his speech, attire, and fabricated backstory. Despite grandstanding, he forms a genuine rapport with the Goddess of Night, contrasting with other summoned heroes' strained deity relationships.

Schwarz encountered fellow heroes Hinata Tachibana and Tsukasa Jinguuji early in their journey in a town. Due to his chosen name's length, Hinata nicknamed him "Shuba-kun." Interactions revealed his initial difficulty communicating with otherworldly inhabitants, prompting isolation in forests where he developed survivalist traits and poison resistance. His journey involves reconciling his self-fashioned heroism with authentic vulnerabilities, particularly his combat fear and reliance on divine support.

As a deuteragonist, Schwarz's role intersects with primary protagonists through shared objectives against the Demon King's forces. His arc explores the tension between his constructed identity and genuine growth, tested by challenges forcing acknowledgment of his limitations. Relationships, including with the Goddess of Night and fellow heroes, gradually expose layers beyond his performative exterior, though his chuunibyo affectations remain consistent.
