Description
Marie Gold, also known as Deka Gold, is a character introduced exclusively in the film Tokusou Sentai Dekaranger The Movie: Full Blast Action. She is an officer of the Special Police Dekaranger from the planet Leslie. Her name is a play on the marigold flower, and she is notable as the first movie-exclusive Sentai Ranger and the first female gold Ranger in the Super Sentai franchise.
Marie Gold's background is defined by tragedy. The Algolian Gas Drinkers, a criminal gang, unleashed a deadly virus called Golden Snow on her home planet, Leslie. The virus turned the planet's population into mindless machine slaves. Marie was the sole survivor because she was on patrol duty away from the planet at the time. Driven by a desperate need to save her people, she pursued the Gas Drinkers to Earth.
In the film, Marie initially appears as a nightclub singer, a cover for her undercover investigation. She possesses the unique ability to temporarily stop time, a power she uses both in her undercover work and during the climax. She transforms into Deka Gold only briefly in a flashback sequence, using a transformation device known as a MariGold License. Marie, believing she is doomed, pleads with Banban Akaza (Deka Red) to kill her to stop the spread. Ban refuses and promises to save her.
