Description
Marie Gold, also known as Deka Gold, is a character introduced exclusively in the film Tokusou Sentai Dekaranger The Movie: Full Blast Action. She is an officer of the Special Police Dekaranger from the planet Leslie. Her name is a play on the marigold flower, and she is notable as the first movie-exclusive Sentai Ranger and the first female gold Ranger in the Super Sentai franchise.

Marie Gold's background is defined by tragedy. The Algolian Gas Drinkers, a criminal gang, unleashed a deadly virus called Golden Snow on her home planet, Leslie. The virus turned the planet's population into mindless machine slaves. Marie was the sole survivor because she was on patrol duty away from the planet at the time. Driven by a desperate need to save her people, she pursued the Gas Drinkers to Earth.

In the film, Marie initially appears as a nightclub singer, a cover for her undercover investigation. She possesses the unique ability to temporarily stop time, a power she uses both in her undercover work and during the climax. She transforms into Deka Gold only briefly in a flashback sequence, using a transformation device known as a MariGold License. Her transformation is cut short when she is shot by Volger, the Gas Drinkers' leader, causing her SP License to malfunction. As Deka Gold, she wields twin blasters called the D-Smasher 01 and D-Smasher 02.

Marie's primary motivation is to obtain the vaccine for the Golden Snow virus, which the Gas Drinkers hold. To that end, she makes a risky deal with them: she uses her time-stopping power to steal the virus from the Dekarangers' laboratory, hoping to exchange it for the vaccine. When the Dekarangers track her down and interrupt the exchange, Volger injects her with the full dose of the virus, intending to use her as a carrier to threaten Earth. Marie, believing she is doomed, pleads with Banban Akaza (Deka Red) to kill her to stop the spread. Ban refuses and promises to save her.

Her role in the story is that of a temporary ally and romantic interest. She is initially a mysterious figure who later becomes a key part of the team's efforts. Her relationship with Ban develops quickly; he is charmed by her from their first meeting and remains determined to rescue her even after her betrayal. Marie, in turn, shows trust in Ban's resolve. After the Dekarangers defeat the Gas Drinkers and recover the vaccine, Marie is cured. Before departing for Leslie, she stops time one last time to give Ban a flower and a kiss, expressing hope that they will meet again. Later, in a crossover film, a detail on Ban's SP License indicates that he still keeps a memento of her, suggesting their relationship continued.

Notable abilities include her time-stopping power, which she can activate at will for a short duration. As an S.P.D. officer, she is also a capable combatant, though her on-screen transformation is limited. Her character arc moves from a driven, self-sacrificing survivor willing to make questionable deals to a more trusting individual who accepts help from the Dekarangers, ultimately finding a way to save both herself and her planet.
