Description
Janta is a supporting character from the fourteenth Pokémon feature film, appearing in both of its versions, Pokémon the Movie: White - Victini and Zekrom and Pokémon the Movie: Black - Victini and Reshiram. She is an adult woman with blue eyes and distinctive purple, chest-length curly hair. Her attire typically includes a beanie, a dress, a necklace, and sandals. She makes her home in the town of Eindoak, which is situated in the Unova region.

Janta is the mother of Damon and Carlita, and she runs a small mobile souvenir shop in Eindoak that sells various trinkets and goods, many of which are themed around the Mythical Pokémon Victini. She is deeply knowledgeable about the history of her ancestors and the legend of Victini, a connection that influences the merchandise she offers. Her constant companion and assistant in managing the shop is her Pokémon partner, a powerful Golurk, which she also relies on for protection and other tasks.

At the outset of the film, Janta appears as a supportive and proud mother. When her son, Damon, explains his grand ambition to restore the lost Hometown of the Earth, the ancient kingdom of their ancestors, she stands by him, offering her encouragement alongside her daughter. Her initial motivation stems from a shared dream for the People of the Earth to once again have a home. This dream was one she helped instill in Damon years earlier when they visited the ruined site of the old kingdom together.

However, her character undergoes a significant shift as she realizes the dangerous extreme to which Damon is willing to go to achieve his goal, which involves trapping Victini and unleashing a destructive power that could destroy Eindoak. At this critical turning point, her role changes from a supportive mother to a desperate opponent of his actions. She takes a direct and active stand against her own son, demonstrating the strength of her moral convictions. She commands her Golurk to engage in battle against the powerful Legendary Pokémon, either Reshiram or Zekrom, that Damon has allied himself with. While her Golurk is initially overpowered, her intervention is a key act of defiance. In the film's climax, when the ancient castle known as the Sword of the Earth goes out of control, she sends her Golurk once more, this time to save Damon from falling to his death, proving that her opposition to his plan does not outweigh her love for him. By the end of the story, after the crisis is averted, she is last seen encouraging her son to fulfill their original, peaceful shared dream by helping to construct a new home for the People of the Earth in a safe location.

In terms of abilities, Janta's primary strength comes from her Golurk. The Golurk acts as her right hand, helping with heavy lifting and other chores at her shop. In battle, it is a formidable fighter, capable of using powerful moves such as Fly, Hyper Beam, and Gyro Ball. Notably, the appearance of her Golurk changes depending on the version of the film; it is an ordinary Golurk in Pokémon the Movie: White - Victini and Zekrom, but it appears as a rare, differently colored Shiny Golurk in Pokémon the Movie: Black - Victini and Reshiram.
