Mao Daichi is a Japanese actress, voice actress, and former stage performer born on February 5, 1956 in Sumoto, Hyogo Prefecture, Japan. Before establishing her career in film and voice acting, she was a prominent figure in the Takarazuka Revue, an all-female musical theater troupe. Daichi joined the company in the early 1970s and rose to become the top star of the Moon Troupe, specializing in otokoyaku, which are male roles performed by female actors, from 1982 until her retirement from the stage in 1985.

Following her departure from Takarazuka, Daichi transitioned into a successful career in mainstream entertainment, appearing in numerous live-action films and television dramas. Notable live-action credits include the disaster film The Sinking of Japan in 2006, The Kurosagi Movie in 2008, and the NHK taiga drama series like武田信玄 in 1988 and功名十字路 in 2006. She also portrayed a character in the 2013 film R100, where she voiced the role of the Voice Queen.

Daichi`s voice acting portfolio includes several prominent anime and dubbed roles. In the anime film series Pokémon the Movie: White - Victini and Zekrom, released in 2011, she provided the voice for the character Janta. The same year, she voiced the character Elyurias in the dystopian science fiction anime series No. 6. Her work in dubbed versions of foreign films is also notable; she performed the Japanese voice of the White Witch for the first three films in The Chronicles of Narnia series, including The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, Prince Caspian, and The Voyage of the Dawn Treader.

Her career as a performer has remained active across multiple decades, with her known voice and screen credits spanning from the mid-2000s into the late 2010s.
