Description
Dino is an Autobot who appears in the film Transformers: Dark of the Moon. He is also known by the name Mirage, though Dino is the name used on-screen. He transforms into a sleek red Ferrari 458 Italia and speaks with an Italian accent.

A vigorous warrior, Dino is characterized by his impatience, which often makes him one of the first to arrive on a battlefield. His peers tend to view this trait as either boldness or recklessness, depending on who is asked. Despite these mixed opinions, no one denies the value of his abilities. He is a sneaky and formidable fighter who should not be underestimated.

Dino's primary motivation in the story is to fight for the Autobot cause against the Decepticons. He follows the leadership of Optimus Prime and participates in critical missions to protect humanity and stop the Decepticons' plans. He is often seen alongside his combat partner, Wheeljack, also known as Que.

Dino plays a supporting but active role throughout the film's events. He joins Bumblebee, Sideswipe, and Que on an early mission to destroy an illegal nuclear weapons site in the Middle East, where he is the first to transform and quickly disables the human guards. Later, at the NEST headquarters, he informs Director Charlotte Mearing that Optimus Prime is in a foul mood and unwilling to speak with her. Dino also takes part in the highway chase to escort Sentinel Prime, where he heroically uses his curved blades to hook into the Decepticon Hatchet, dragging him into the line of fire of the other Autobots and then hurling him into oncoming traffic to destroy him.

After Sentinel Prime betrays the Autobots and sides with Megatron, Dino is present when the Decepticon army invades Washington D.C. and is later forced into exile alongside the other Autobots. He survives the apparent destruction of their ship, the Xantium, by hiding in its boosters. During the final battle in Chicago, Dino fights hand-to-hand against Decepticons. At one point, his left arm is badly wounded, which limits his combat effectiveness. He is ultimately freed from capture by the intervention of the small robots Wheelie and Brains, and he survives the final battle, joining his battle-worn comrades at the end.

Dino possesses several notable abilities. His most distinctive power is an electro-disrupter that allows him to become invisible and create holographic decoys of himself, making him an excellent spy. However, he prefers direct combat. He is also armed with a dart rifle and a pair of curved blades for melee combat. In some video game adaptations, he is depicted as being able to perform melee attacks faster than other characters.
