Description
In the Kamen Rider Decade television series, Bashaa is a supporting character introduced within the A.R. World known as the World of Kiva. He belongs to the Merman Race and serves as one of the three Arms Monsters, loyal attendants to the sovereign of that world. Alongside his counterparts Garulu and Dogga, Bashaa functions as both a companion and a living weapon for Kiva, the ruler of that realm. Standing at 170 centimeters tall and weighing 68 kilograms, Bashaa possesses a humanoid appearance with fish-like characteristics, including gills and fins, which reflect his aquatic nature.

Bashaa is characterized by a calm, level-headed, and observant personality. Compared to the more aggressive Garulu or the brutish Dogga, Bashaa often comes across as the most composed and sensible member of the trio. He tends to be polite and cooperative, following the orders of his master without excessive complaint. Despite his monstrous origins, he exhibits a level of intelligence and social awareness that allows him to interact with humans without inciting panic, though his demeanor remains that of a dutiful soldier rather than a socialite.

The primary motivation for Bashaa, as for all Arms Monsters, is loyalty to the king of the World of Kiva. His existence is intrinsically tied to his duty to protect and empower his master. This purpose is demonstrated through his primary ability: transforming into the Basshaa Magnum, a specialized gun-like weapon. This device, also known as the Demon Sea Gun, allows Kiva to assume his Basshaa Form, which specializes in ranged and aquatic combat. The Basshaa Magnum operates by spinning a turbine to generate high-pressure water bullets. For a finishing attack, Kiva can initiate the Basshaa Aqua Tornado, a move that creates a pressurized sphere of water capable of homing in on enemies and leaving them in a brittle state vulnerable to shattering.

Within the narrative of Kamen Rider Decade, Bashaa’s role is primarily functional. He exists as a resource for Kiva, used during battles against the forces threatening their world. His most significant moment in the story occurs when he and the other Arms Monsters question the intentions of their new king, specifically his decision to abolish the law of coexistence between humans and the Fangire. As a consequence of this defiance, Bashaa and his companions are forcibly absorbed into the armor of the Beetle Fangire, serving as a source of power for the antagonist until they are freed.

Key relationships define Bashaa’s place in the World of Kiva. His most critical bond is with his master, Kiva, to whom he is bound by duty and the magical Fuestle that summons him. He shares a close camaraderie with Garulu and Dogga, functioning as a unit that has survived as the last of their respective kinds. Their dynamic is that of long-standing comrades who fight, serve, and face consequences together.

Bashaa does not undergo significant personal development in Kamen Rider Decade, as his appearances are limited to the arc of the World of Kiva. His character remains static, defined by his loyalty, his subsequent act of questioning authority, and his predetermined function as a living weapon. His notable abilities are entirely combat-oriented and tied to his transformation. Beyond becoming the Basshaa Magnum, he can be summoned by the Kiva Fuestle and is capable of fighting in his base form. Thematically, he represents the element of water and the concept of the ranged specialist, contrasting with Garulu’s speed and Dogga’s strength.
