Description
The Death Records President is the head of the Death Records label and the manager of the death metal band Detroit Metal City, known by the acronym DMC. She is an adult woman with yellow-blonde hair cut to neck length and red eyes, and she projects a strong, flashy presence through her loud clothing and intense mannerisms. In the story she is consistently identified by her title rather than a personal name, and members of the band address her as President.

Her background explains much of her behavior. Before entering the music business, she was the leader of a gang called Death. The gang operated under the stated goal of searching for music that could serve as a better weapon than a knife, and in practice this meant crashing concerts, assaulting performing bands, and destroying their instruments on stage. This past is reflected in the way she runs her label, treating the music industry less as a creative field and more as a battlefield where impact and dominance are the only measures of success.

Her personality is loud, aggressive, and openly vulgar. She is foul-mouthed, speaks with crude sexual language, and frequently describes performances and events in explicitly sexual terms. She is a devoted heavy metal fan who is also a chain-smoker, a heavy drinker, and often under the influence of drugs, and she shows no hesitation in resorting to violence to get what she wants. She is often accompanied by Garo and Guro, two huge, leather-clad brothers who serve as her bodyguards and enforcers.

Her central motivation is the commercial success of DMC. She approaches the band entirely from a business perspective, prioritizing market reactions, publicity, and spectacle over the artists' personal feelings or artistic ideals. She regards Negishi, the band's frontman, not as an individual but as a product with commercial value, and she has no qualms about forcing him into extreme roles and situations against his will for the sake of the band. She is willing to try any scheme, no matter how strange or extreme, to promote the group, and she rarely shows satisfaction after a success, preferring to move immediately to the next provocative plan.

In the story, she functions as a constant external pressure on the protagonist. Her managerial decisions force the gentle, pop-loving Negishi to continue performing as the demonic Krauser, deepening his internal conflict and driving many of the series' comedic and dramatic situations. She is the force that repeatedly pulls him back into the band whenever he tries to escape, and without her presence the commercial and coercive dynamics that shape his dilemma would largely disappear. Her extreme promotional stunts, her habit of inventing outrageous stage directions, and her willingness to push the band into dangerous or humiliating situations are the primary engines of the plot's recurring conflicts.

Her relationships with the band members are defined by fear and control. She manages DMC as a whole, and the members generally comply with her demands because they are afraid of her. This is most visible in her dealings with Negishi, whom she bullies, bribes, and physically intimidates into accepting his role, and with the bassist Jagi, who refers to her as President and who, like the others, is reluctant to leave the band largely out of fear of her. She treats the musicians more as stage elements than as people, using them to maximize the impact of performances and marketing campaigns. Her bodyguards are her constant companions and provide the muscle that backs up her commands.

Her development over the course of the series is minimal. She appears from early on as a fully formed force of commercialism and excess, and she remains largely unchanged, embodying the relentless drive of the music industry to turn artists into commodities. Instead of growing as a character, she serves as a symbol of the commercial pressure that contrasts with Negishi's desire to make the gentle pop music he truly loves, and nearly every major turn in his career is triggered by one of her schemes.

In terms of abilities, she is not a performer herself but is highly capable in her own field. She is a skilled promoter and producer who understands how to generate attention and controversy, and she consistently devises promotional tactics that push the band further into the public eye. She is also a formidable intimidator, using her violent temper, her coarse language, and her bodyguards to control those around her, and her background as a gang leader gives her practical experience in coercion and confrontation. Combined with her total lack of restraint and her relentless focus on commercial gain, these qualities make her one of the most powerful and driving figures in the world of Detroit Metal City.
