Description
Agente Simmons, whose full name is Seymour Simmons, is a former government agent from a family with a deep history involving Transformers on Earth. His great-grandfather was part of the team that first discovered the frozen Decepticon leader Megatron in the Arctic, a legacy that instilled in Simmons an intense patriotism and a lifelong obsession with the alien robots. After the secret organization Sector Seven is disbanded, he is forced into a mundane civilian life, working at a delicatessen owned by his mother in New York City. Despite his fall from grace, he secretly retains a cache of classified files and artifacts, including the head of the Decepticon Frenzy, hidden beneath the deli. Eccentric, abrasive, and theatrical, Simmons initially comes across as resentful and hostile, but underneath lies a genuine sense of duty. His personal obsession with Transformers history leads him to develop a theory, dismissed by his former agency, that the robots have visited Earth for millennia and that some may still lie dormant. When called upon to help stop a world-ending threat, his motivation shifts from bitter self-pity to reluctant heroism. He proves to be an invaluable strategist and intelligence source, deciphering clues, leading others to a dormant Transformer named Jetfire, and coordinating with military forces. In a notable act of bravery, he climbs the Great Pyramid of Giza to guide a naval strike on a giant Decepticon. His skills include an encyclopedic knowledge of Transformer lore, unconventional field tactics, surveillance, infiltration, and psychological negotiation. He also demonstrates a talent for using a taser and a stubborn tenacity that refuses to give up, even against overwhelming odds. His key relationships evolve from hostility to grudging respect with Sam Witwicky and Mikaela Banes, and from mocking rivalry to an effective bickering partnership with Leo Spitz.
