Description
Hanzou Urushihara, alias Lucifer, is a fallen angel and former archangel who served as one of Satan Jacob's Four Demon Generals during the conquest of Ente Isla. Born as the "original sin" after the destruction of the angels' home world, he is the son of Ignora and Sataniel, placing him in the second generation of angels. Lucifer once held the highest rank among archangels in heaven and led them before abandoning his duties out of boredom, resulting in his fall from grace. This transition corrupted his powers, turned his wings black, and reclassified him as a fallen angel.

Seeking excitement, he joined Satan Jacob to unite the demon realm. During the Ente Isla invasion, Lucifer spearheaded the conquest of the Western Continent, leveraging his knowledge of heavenly tactics. His campaign involved burning villages and fields, including Sloan Village, where he killed Nord Justina, father of the hero Emilia Justina. Though Emilia defeated him and stabbed him through the chest with her sacred sword, he survived. Secretly rescued by the rogue archbishop Olba Meyer, Lucifer allied with him, promising to eliminate Satan and Emilia on Earth in exchange for a return to heaven.

On Earth, Lucifer adopted the human alias Hanzou Urushihara. His powers diminished due to Earth's low magic levels, forcing him to feed on human negative emotions to regain strength. He committed muggings with Olba to harvest fear, taunted Emilia (now Emi Yusa), and orchestrated attacks against her, Satan (Sadao Maou), and Alciel (Shirou Ashiya). Following a confrontation where Satan regained temporary power, Lucifer was defeated and moved into Maou's apartment to evade authorities. Confined due to his criminal record, he became a reclusive figure, labeled a "hikikomori" or "NEET."

Physically, Urushihara resembles a short, skinny teenage boy with purple hair and eyes, standing 155 cm tall and weighing 48 kg. He typically wears casual attire like white shirts and blue-and-white sneakers, featuring purple ear piercings. Accessing his powers manifests black feathery wings; these wings later turned white after repeated consumption of holy food prepared by Suzuno Kamazuki.

His personality blends laziness, cunning, and childishness. He avoids chores, spends excessive time gaming or online, and manipulates others for personal gain, such as tricking allies into retrieving his game console. He exhibits a short temper, social awkwardness, and indifference to exclusion. Despite this, he occasionally shows responsibility, like selling his hard drive to help with household debts or aiding allies in critical situations. His actions, historically driven by boredom, led to disobedience during military campaigns and his initial betrayal of Satan.

Urushihara's abilities include flight via wings, deploying explosive feathers, and firing energy projectiles manifesting as purple magic bullets. He demonstrates high endurance, surviving lethal combat magic and sacred sword strikes. He excels with technology, displaying advanced hacking skills and gaming proficiency. After consuming Suzuno's holy-infused cooking, he temporarily regained angelic traits, including white wings and holy spells like "Farlight Dazzle" for long-distance vision.

His relationships are complex. He resents Maou for domestic constraints but receives financial support for technology. Ashiya frequently nags him about laziness and financial wastefulness. While initially hostile toward Emi, their interactions evolve into reluctant cooperation. He retains respect among lower-ranking angels despite his fallen status and wields residual influence over them.

Trivia includes allergies to dust and cats, susceptibility to motion sickness (excluding flight), and Gabriel's assertion that he was once closest to "Mr. Big" (presumably God). His name "Lucifer" means "Morning Star," referencing Babylonian lore where he symbolized fallen grace.
