Description
Konno, also known by his childhood nickname Konchi, is a former member of Kenji Endo's childhood group. His full name is Yuichi Konno. During his youth, he was the tallest among the group. After elementary school, his family relocated to Hokkaido, causing him to lose contact with Kenji. As adults, when Kenji attempted to rally his old friends to confront the threat posed by the cult leader Friend, Konno chose not to join the fight on Bloody New Year's Eve, a decision he later came to regret. In the aftermath of the global catastrophe, Konno took up work as a DJ at a remote radio station in Hokkaido, which had become a ghost facility. Through this station, he broadcast Kenji's song across Japan, inadvertently spreading a symbol of hope to the scattered resistance. Konno's character is defined by his initial hesitation and later quiet contribution to the effort against Friend. His key relationship is with Kenji Endo, whom he admired as a childhood friend. He also shares similarities with Keroyon, another former friend who similarly declined the call. Konno's development traces a path from a passive member of the group to a figure who, despite his earlier inaction, helps preserve the memory of Kenji's message through his radio broadcasts. He possesses no exceptional abilities but relies on his technical knowledge of radio operations to aid the cause.
