Description
Iria is the central protagonist of Zeiram 2, an interplanetary bounty hunter with a determined and resourceful nature. She hails from the Batabitajira region of the planet Myce and is employed by a bounty hunting agency called Ghomvak Security & Investigations. Her hunter ID number is 9799-5, and her rank as a professional is signified by a blue stone pendant marked with three red dots, which she receives upon obtaining her full license, having previously worn a pink apprentice pendant. Iria has a somewhat tomboyish personality and is noted for her eccentric habit of wearing men's hair ornaments. While she can be reckless at times, especially in her earlier days as a rookie, she compensates for this with natural fighting ability, a sharp and analytical mind, and a strong sense of duty.

In Zeiram 2, Irias primary motivation is to continue her mission of capturing or eliminating the dangerous alien entity known as Zeiram, whose core was presumed dead after her previous encounter. She returns to Earth not only for this purpose but also to reunite with two human electricians, Teppei and Kamiya, whom she befriended during her first battle with the creature. The sequel adds another layer to her mission, as she is also tasked with testing a new combat robot and seeking an ancient teleportation relic called the Kamarite. A shadowy organization has recovered Zeirams core and installed it as the organic brain of a robotic supersoldier, which quickly goes berserk. Iria`s role in the story therefore becomes a personal and professional obligation to stop this newly revived and even more unpredictable threat.

Her key relationships are central to the narrative. She is constantly accompanied by Bob, her sentient computer partner who provides tactical support, communication, and technical assistance. Unlike many action heroes, the story deliberately avoids a romantic subplot for Iria, instead focusing on the value of platonic friendships. Her bond with the two ordinary Earth men, Teppei and Kamiya, has deepened since their first harrowing adventure. While they provide comic relief, they also serve as her emotional connection to humanity and her motivation to protect innocent people, creating a found-family dynamic that drives much of the sequel`s heart.

Although Iria begins the film as a seasoned and capable fighter, her development in Zeiram 2 is tested through new forms of adversity. The sequel places her in situations where she is frequently separated from her allies, often trapped or forced to fight alone while coordinating with Teppei and Kamiya via radio. This forces her to rely not just on her physical strength but on trust and strategic planning with her non-combatant friends. The storyline explores her growth from a lone operative into a more collaborative protector, willing to risk her life to save the innocent civilians she has grown to care for. Her abilities appear more refined in the sequel, with her hand-to-hand combat and action sequences being more fluid and credible compared to her portrayal in the first film.

Iria possesses a wide array of notable abilities and equipment that make her a formidable opponent. She is a highly skilled marksman and an expert in unarmed combat, with superhuman levels of speed, agility, and reflexes, particularly when wearing her powered armor suit. Her standard equipment includes various firearms, explosives, a spear, a sword, and a powerful bazooka. She is also a master of preparation and trap-setting, often using her technological expertise to erect a "Zone," an artificially created alternate dimension where she can fight dangerous quarries without endangering civilian populations. For extreme threats, she has access to the Metis Cannon, a weapon of significant power that she used to destroy Zeiram`s body in the past, though using it without authorization carries personal risks. In combat, her reflexes are sharp enough to deflect energy blasts, and her power suit allows her to take significant physical punishment and even glide through the air.
