Description
Komori-Otoko, also known as the Bat Man or Human Bat, is a monster created by the evil organization Shocker. He is one of their earliest creations, an artificially engineered being known as a kaijin. His background involves being designed as a living weapon, specifically engineered to carry a sentient virus in his fangs. This virus allows him to infect anyone he bites, transforming them into vampire-like servants completely under his mental control. In the story, he establishes a hidden laboratory within an apartment building, where he abducts residents to expand his army of thralls.

In terms of personality, Komori-Otoko is a patient and calculating operative. He acts with a calm, predatory ruthlessness, viewing the people he ensnares merely as resources to be exploited for Shocker's goals. He displays a cunning tactical mind, using his infected minions to launch coordinated attacks and spread fear, making him difficult for his enemies to track directly. His devotion to the aims of Shocker is absolute.

His primary motivation is to execute the will of Shocker and hasten its plans for world domination. He is specifically driven to spread his controlling virus, converting the population into an obedient legion. Above all, he is motivated to eliminate the greatest threat to the organization: Kamen Rider 1, Takeshi Hongo, the escaped cyborg who opposes Shocker's regime.

In Go Go Kamen Rider, Komori-Otoko serves as a primary antagonist. His role establishes the template for the threat of a Shocker monster: infiltration into human society, subversion of the population through mind control, and a direct physical confrontation with the hero. He is the specific monster that Kamen Rider 1 must investigate, track to his lair, and ultimately destroy. His actions create the central crisis of the narrative segment.

His key relationships are defined by his mission. He is a subordinate of the Great Leader of Shocker, carrying out commands from above. He creates a network of minions from his infected victims, treating them as disposable tools. His most significant relationship is with Kamen Rider 1, an adversarial connection that forms the core conflict of the story. He also has a direct exploitative relationship with his targeted victims, such as the character Ruriko, whom he seeks to abduct and convert.

The character does not undergo personal growth or thematic change within the movie. He instead functions as a static representation of the singular, inhuman malice of the Shocker organization. His presence reinforces the stakes of Kamen Rider's fight, and his defeat represents a crucial victory in the broader war against the organization.

Komori-Otoko possesses several notable abilities. His hallmark power is the sentient virus carried in his fangs, which allows him to dominate the minds of those he bites and transform them into subservient ghouls. He has the power of flight, using his large bat-like wings to travel through the air. Like most Shocker kaijin, he has immense superhuman strength and durability, enabling him to engage the cyborg Kamen Rider in direct combat. He also possesses the ability to enter a hypnotic trance-like state, which he can share with the people infected by his virus, creating a strange moment of collective stillness.
