Description
Ishidaira is a young man with an intimidating appearance and an impulsive personality who, after years away, wanders into a public library and discovers a book he borrowed as a child was never returned. To make amends for this forgotten transgression, he ends up taking a part-time job working among the very shelves he had never truly considered before. Initially feeling completely out of place in the quiet, ordered environment, he gradually learns the rhythms of library work, managing loans, reshelving volumes, and assisting the regular patrons. Through daily contact with passionate colleagues and readers of all ages, he begins to change in small but meaningful ways. What started as a simple way to settle a debt transforms into an experience that reveals the value of books and opens up a new perspective on himself and the world around him. The live-action series is a Japanese comedy-drama and slice of life story set primarily within the walls of a public library, tracking Ishidaira's journey of personal growth as he navigates part-time work, confronts his past carelessness, and discovers an unexpected sense of purpose and connection.
