"Koi to Senkyo to Chocolate" is a manga adaptation of the visual novel of the same name, set in Takafuji Private Academy, a prestigious high school. The narrative centers on Yūki Ōjima, a second-year student and member of the Food Research Club, a small and underfunded group focused on creating and sharing snacks. The club faces disbandment due to budget cuts proposed by the student council, which aims to eliminate smaller clubs to allocate resources more efficiently. This decision sparks a conflict between the student council and the affected clubs, with Yūki emerging as a key figure in the resistance.

As the story progresses, Yūki is persuaded to run for student council president to challenge the incumbent and protect the Food Research Club. His campaign gains momentum, drawing support from various students and clubs threatened by the budget cuts. The narrative explores the dynamics of school politics, friendships, and personal growth, as Yūki navigates the complexities of leadership and responsibility. Alongside the political struggle, the story delves into Yūki's relationships with several female characters, each with their own motivations and connections to the central conflict.

Key characters include Satsuki Shinonome, the pragmatic and determined student council president who initially proposes the budget cuts; Chisato Sumiyoshi, Yūki's childhood friend and a member of the Food Research Club, who harbors deep feelings for him; and Michiru Matsushima, a cheerful and energetic classmate who becomes a close ally in Yūki's campaign. Other significant figures include Mifuyu Kurosaki, a reserved and intelligent student council member, and Aoi Ogiue, a mysterious transfer student with a hidden agenda.

The manga intertwines themes of romance, ambition, and camaraderie, as Yūki and his friends work to preserve their club while addressing personal and collective challenges. The story balances lighthearted moments with more serious undertones, reflecting the struggles of adolescence and the importance of standing up for one's beliefs. Through its exploration of school life and interpersonal relationships, "Koi to Senkyo to Chocolate" offers a multifaceted narrative that appeals to fans of both romance and drama genres.
