Description
Westalia Lejainne, the daughter of an aristocrat, has been raised and educated from a young age with the singular expectation of becoming the future queen of her kingdom. Her life takes a fatal turn when she is betrayed by a close friend, framed for attempted murder, and sentenced to death by poisoning. However, Westalia is secretly a master of poisons. She manages to sneak an antidote, drinks the deadly concoction, and rises from the dead after her own execution, faking her death to escape with her life.

Rather than facing a reincarnation or a reset of time, Westalia seizes her second chance. Now on the run, she uses her royal education to steal her way across national borders and infiltrate the neighboring Archadies Empire. Her goal is ambitious: to endure the grueling selection process to become the next empress, thereby reclaiming the status and power she lost. She is accompanied by a loyal lady knight, whom she frees from slavery, and is persistently followed by an irritating man who seems strangely familiar.

The narrative subverts the typical villainess reincarnation trope. Westalia is not a reborn villainess trying to avoid a bad ending but a living one actively rewriting her fate. Her former fiancé, Prince Felix, is revealed to be the familiar man following her, and together they conspire to expose the true culprit behind her framing: the prince's own half-sister. The setting shifts from her oppressive home kingdom to the empire, where the selection process for empress forces her to compete against rivals like Elizabeth Reyn, a wealthy noble whose family hides dark secrets.

Notable narrative arcs include Westalia’s initial escape and flight to the empire, followed by the high-stakes competition for the position of empress. After a tie in the first contest, a final challenge is issued: both final candidates must collect as many artificial flowers as possible within a strict budget and time limit. This arc uncovers a conspiracy involving the Reyn family, who have used poison dresses and flowers to murder thousands and destroy rival houses. The story follows Westalia as she races to uncover these mysteries, survive political machinations, and ultimately defeat the true villains without losing her temper or her life.
