Shigeru Yoshioka is a former salesman whose life collapses after a young girl falsely accuses him of molestation on a train. He becomes a reclusive shut-in until he discovers an online ritual that supposedly allows one to be transported to another world. Shigeru reluctantly forms a party with them, though he initially plans to abandon them as soon as possible to keep his true power a secret.

Despite his overwhelming strength, Shigerus existence is defined by the crippling weaknesses he imposed on himself. He cannot touch any woman without suffering massive damage, a condition that makes him recoil even from friendly gestures. His hideous appearance also causes others to distrust or mock him on sight, forcing him to rely on his sharp business instincts from his salesman days to navigate social situations. The party faces various threats, including other individuals from Earth who abuse their reincarnation powers. One major antagonist is Kajita, a casino owner who hates rich people and has the ability to instantly kill anyone who lies to him, stealing their special characteristics. Shigeru must outwit him using careful wordplay, such as stating that his stats contain many zeros, which his enemies misinterpret as meaning zero when he actually has trillions. Another significant figure is Karina, a woman who achieved the Absolute God status by giving up sleep and the ability to have sex. She is revealed to be the twin sister of Kyoko Shiratori, the girl who falsely accused Shigeru on Earth, and she is a dangerously unstable Stepford Smiler who plans to corrupt others with suffering. A greater-scope threat is the Spear of Ordnung, a criminal organization founded by reincarnated Earthlings who were unfit for normal society. The narrative follows Shigeru as he navigates a world where his own self-imposed curses are as powerful as his enemies, all while struggling to overcome his trauma and find genuine human connection.
