Description
The strongest and oldest divine dragon, having lived through eternity, grows weary of his immortal existence and allows himself to be killed by a human hero. As he prepares for eternal sleep, he instead awakens as a newborn human boy named Dolan in the remote frontier village of Verun. Retaining all memories and much of the immense magical power from his previous life, Dolan grows into a sincere and hardworking young man who finds genuine joy in simple activities like farming the fields and hunting in the forest—a warm, community-filled life he never experienced during his lonely centuries as a dragon.

The peaceful rhythm of Dolan’s second life changes when he encounters a powerful demon army while patrolling the woods near his village. During his investigations, he also meets Celina, a gentle seventeen-year-old lamia with the upper body of a human and the lower body of a snake. Though lamias are generally feared and discriminated against by humans, Dolan offers her residency in Verun Village, and she becomes one of his closest companions. As Dolan uses his dragon-born magical abilities to defend his new home from monsters, demons, and other threats, he gradually builds a found family around himself.

The narrative expands as Dolan encounters a diverse cast of characters from across the fantasy world. Christina, a noble knight, crosses paths with him during her own adventures. Airi, a young girl from Verun Village, develops a crush on the unsuspecting Dolan. Deeper in the Ente forest, he meets Diadora, a black rose spirit, as well as the wood elf militia leader Gio and his younger sister Fio. A fairy named Marle also becomes part of his circle, along with various demons including Geolude, Gellen, and Georg. The story also introduces Leticia, a woman who claims to be the direct oracle of the goddess Myrale, as well as Marida, a member of the Berun militia.

As the series progresses, Dolan must confront figures from his dragon past. Kalavith, one of the seven divine dragons like Dolan once was, emerges as a significant presence. The goddess Myrale, an old friend of Dolan from his dragon years, also becomes involved in the affairs of the mortal world. Throughout his journey, Dolan struggles with the fear that those he loves might reject him if they learn his true identity as the legendary ancient dragon. Despite his vast experience and world-shaking power, he often finds himself solving problems through force rather than wisdom, a tendency that his companions occasionally note with amusement. From protecting Verun Village against demon armies to navigating complex relationships with gods, spirits, and fellow divine dragons, Dolan learns what it truly means to cherish a mortal existence while building a new legend far different from the one he left behind.
