A young woman named Rei, burdened by various worries, seeks relief by following the advice of some elders and begins camping in a dense forest not far from her home. During that first night, something disturbs her sleep. She awakens with a start and notices an abnormal, monstrous presence nearby. Rei soon realizes she is not the only person who can sense something sinister, and a new threat seems to be looming, an event that completely changes her life from that moment forward.

The narrative is set in modern Japan and unfolds as a seinen horror mystery series. The central character is Rei, a girl whose decision to seek solace in nature leads her to the brink of a terrifying supernatural world.
