Description
A young woman named Ram Mercure has lived a life defined by fear and humiliation. Born with a cowardly disposition into a family of commoners who were elevated to baronial status, she was ridiculed and abused for having residual traces of mana. In a bid to be rid of her, her family married her off to Char, the Earl of Mercure, to be his second wife. Unfortunately, her new situation proved just as miserable. Her husband, a powerful but perpetually busy mage, is almost always absent from the estate, leaving her at the mercy of the servants, who torment her relentlessly, knowing she is too timid to fight back.
Everything changes when a particularly brutal bout of bullying from her handmaidens results in Ram hitting her head against a wall. The impact awakens long-dormant memories of her past life; five hundred years ago, she was Aurora, the most powerful and celebrated witch in the country. Fed up with the cramped and powerless existence she has endured in her current life, the newly awakened Ram decides she will no longer live as a victim. She seizes control of her own destiny, using her reawakened magic and the force of her will to punish the abusive servants, fire them from the household, and demand a divorce from her neglectful husband.
However, her plan for a quiet life of freedom hits an unexpected snag. The moment Ram stops cowering and begins to assert herself, the Earl, Char, finds himself captivated by her transformation. He is particularly enthralled when he witnesses the sheer power of her magic, and it is revealed that he is an enormous admirer of the legendary witch Aurora—not knowing that she is standing right in front of him. Instead of granting her a divorce, Char becomes determined to win her over. The story follows Ram as she navigates her new reality, using her vast magical power from a previous era to forge a new, comfortable life on her own terms, all while dealing with a husband who has suddenly gone from completely indifferent to ardently devoted.
