Shitsugaikishitsu is a collection of four mysterious and magical realist short stories by the manga creator Chome, compiled into a single volume. The collection explores the lives of people whose ordinary existences intersect unexpectedly with a hidden, often supernatural world.

The central narrative thread across these stories is the sudden intrusion of the extraordinary into everyday life. In one story, Tsugiho, a young woman, discovers a mysterious notebook that sets her on an unforeseen path. Another tale, 21g no Bouken, follows the spirit of a young girl who begins to wander after she loses her life in a traffic accident. The story Konshin focuses on a strange radio that broadcasts a mysterious transmission, drawing a listener into its enigmatic orbit. The final story, Chika Toshokan Tankentan, features a girl who stumbles upon a secret passage in her school’s library, which leads her to an underground world populated by mysterious individuals, where countless biographies are accumulated, including her own.
