Manga
Description
In this sequel series to the real estate manga Is Kichijoji the Only Place to Live?, the story continues to follow the unconventional twin sisters Miyako and Tomiko Shigeta, who run a small real estate agency in Tokyo. Despite working in Kichijoji, an area famously voted the most desirable place to live in Tokyo, the twins make it their unique business practice to never rent an apartment in that neighborhood to their clients. Instead, they listen closely to each client's stated wishes and unspoken emotional needs before guiding them toward a different, often overlooked Tokyo neighborhood that would be a much better fit.

The narrative retains an episodic structure, with each chapter introducing a new client facing a personal crossroads. In this new series, the focus shifts primarily to male clients dealing with various life challenges such as career dissatisfaction, a recent divorce, or simply feeling stuck in a rut. The twins take these men on personalized walking tours of areas like Nihonbashi Hamacho, Koenji, Yushima, and Tachikawa, revealing the local charm, hidden eateries, and community spirit that make each place special. The story highlights how finding the right environment can help a person move forward. A notable change from the original series is the gender focus, with the sequel concentrating on men's anxieties and their search for a fresh start, though the twins themselves remain the core, with their unchanged, unconventional personalities and gluttonous appetites.

The central characters are the Shigeta twins. They are portrayed as stout, heavy metal-loving women who are completely content with their lives and show no interest in traditional milestones like marriage. Their approach is empathetic yet pragmatic, acting more as life counselors than simple salespeople. Recurring elements include their ongoing personal project of renovating the house they inherited from their parents, a storyline that provides a parallel to their clients' journeys of creating a home. Through these interactions, the manga showcases the distinct character of various Tokyo districts, from the shopping streets of Setagaya to the hot springs of Kamata, all while maintaining a warm, humorous, and gently insightful tone about the relationship between a person and the place they live.
