Description
Ten-year-old Rilu lives in a refugee village, and her stomach is always empty. One day, she suddenly remembers having a past life, which makes her new reality even more painful. Abandoned by her parents who refuse to work, she is ostracized by the other villagers and faces the threat of being driven out entirely.
Desperate to secure a place to belong and dreaming of one day eating a warm, home-cooked meal to her heart's content, Rilu searches for a way out. She learns that even a refugee can earn the right to live in a proper town by registering with the Adventurers Guild and reaching B-rank. With nothing to her name—no money, no tools, no allies, and no credibility—she decides to start from absolute zero.
Rilu’s journey begins with the smallest and most menial tasks. She collects trash, cleans the guild hall, draws water, and hunts small hole-rats just to survive. After earning her first reward, she experiences the simple but overwhelming joy of buying her first skewered meal at a town diner, solidifying her resolve to work as hard as it takes. Her goal is to escape refugee life and achieve citizenship, one honest day of work at a time.
As she slowly gains experience, Rilu takes on a wider variety of quests both inside and outside the town. She learns to read and write, becomes a salesgirl at a bakery, and works as a waitress and stock manager. Her reputation for being a diligent and earnest worker gradually earns her the trust and support of the townspeople. The story follows her step-by-step progression from F-rank upwards, including her first real battles with monsters, her attempts to form a temporary party, and her relentless pursuit of the security and comfort that citizenship represents.
