Description
In a world overflowing with magic where mana flows through all living things, Kinato works at his family's humble clinic in the remote town of Manutuka. He is a practitioner of seitai magic, a unique healing art that realigns the body's energies and mana pathways to treat illnesses and relieve pain. As a child, Kinato dreamed of becoming a heroic adventurer after being inspired by those who saved his hometown from a monster attack. Over time, however, he convinced himself that his minor healing talents and gentle personality are not suited for the adventurous life, resigning himself to a quiet existence helping patients with their aches and pains.
This peaceful life is shattered when a group claiming to be adventurers arrives with news of an approaching dragon, luring Kinato to join their party. In reality, they are slavers who target well-intentioned mages, and they quickly drug and kidnap him. Imprisoned alongside Jien, the boisterous captain of an adventurer guild called the Iron Fangs, Kinato is forced to put his abilities to an unconventional test. Using his seitai magic to release the tension in magical restraints, he frees himself and Jien. What follows is a chaotic escape complicated by the unexpected presence of a real dragon nesting near the slavers' hideout. Cornered and desperate, Kinato weaponizes his medical massage ball with a super-acceleration spell, launching it into the dragon's gut and knocking the beast unconscious. This unlikely victory earns him the recognition of Jien, who commends his hidden potential.
The story follows Kinato as he finally decides to chase his childhood dream, leaving Manutuka to become a registered adventurer. He is accompanied by Linae, his childhood friend who takes on the role of the Iron Fangs' new receptionist. The guild is led by the stern and less-than-supportive Kaminagi, who tests Kinato by giving him the freedom to expel him if he fails to meet expectations. Jien, the bare-fisted monk and mentor figure, believes that Kinato will only show his true strength when pushed to the brink, a trait that defines the young mage's growth. Kinato must learn to see his healing hands not just as a tool for medicine but as a versatile combat ability. His aura vision allows him to see mana flow, letting him locate tension points in both bodies and the environment, such as bursting a groundwater vein to extinguish a fire.
The narrative explores the central theme that dreams are worth chasing and that a person is often their own worst enemy. Kinato's lack of self-confidence is the only thing holding him back from greatness. As the series progresses into arcs like the confrontation with a rival guild, Kinato is forced to refine his tactical combat style. His seitai magic proves to be a heart-is-an-awesome-power ability, allowing him to reset fatigue in allies, enhance joint mobility, and even subtly disrupt an opponent's balance. The introduction of a rival guild brings external pressure and a lightning magic user who represents raw speed and power, clashing with Kinato's philosophy of precision and support. Through these challenges, Kinato discovers that his magic is not truly limited to healing; it is the power to adjust and control the flow of all types of energy, a truth he never explored due to his focus on the family trade.
