Another interpretation places Billiken as a character in the American-inspired setting of Little Beans Town, a small, off-the-map rural community. Here, the residents idealize a massive shopping mall called New World that stands at the town center. Billiken joins a young detective squad to uncover a sinister plot orchestrated by suspicious aliens creeping toward the mall, embarking on an adventure reminiscent of 1980s cinema.
