Description
"Togari" is a manga series that blends elements of supernatural action, redemption, and moral exploration. The protagonist, Tobei, is a young man who has spent 300 years in Hell as punishment for his violent and selfish life in feudal Japan. In Hell, he endures relentless torment, but his suffering is interrupted when he is offered a chance at redemption. A mysterious figure grants him a powerful weapon, the Togari, a wooden sword imbued with divine power, and tasks him with hunting down 108 evil spirits that have escaped to the human world. If Tobei succeeds in eliminating all the spirits within a year, he will be granted a second chance at life.
Returning to modern-day Japan, Tobei discovers that the world has drastically changed since his time. The escaped spirits, known as Magatsuhi, possess humans and amplify their darkest desires, leading to chaos and suffering.
