A country girl named Special Week arrives at Tracen Academy, a prestigious training school for horse girls who possess the spirits of legendary racehorses and compete for glory on the track. Her dream is simple but ambitious: to become the number one horse girl in Japan. Fresh off the train in the big city, she is immediately captivated by the grace and power of a silver-haired horse girl named Silent Suzuka, who runs with breathtaking speed at the front of the pack. Inspired by this "escape" queen, Special Week vows to not only catch up to her but to one day stand alongside her as a rival.

The story follows Special Week as she adapts to life at the academy, making fast friends and fierce rivals among the eccentric residents of the栗東 (Ritto) dormitory. This spirited group includes the cheerful and talented Tokai Teio, who idolizes the student council president, the "Emperor" Symboli Rudolf; the inseparable and hot-headed pair, Vodka and Daiwa Scarlet, who argue constantly but push each other to be better; the unpredictable antics of the towering Gold Ship; and the elegant yet competitive大小姐 (ojou-sama), Mejiro McQueen. As Special Week trains for the Twinkle Series races, her bond with the quiet and dedicated Silent Suzuka deepens, forming the emotional core of the story.

The narrative unfolds in several key arcs. The first major conflict arises when Silent Suzuka unexpectedly announces her transfer from the Ritto dormitory to the rival Miho dormitory. Feeling abandoned by the friend she admired most, a heartbroken Special Week is challenged to find her own resolve. She must lift her head and dedicate herself to training with one goal in mind: to become strong enough to face Suzuka on the racetrack. This leads to a dramatic confrontation where Special Week boldly interrupts a race between Suzuka and the elite Air Groove, settling their relationship through competition.

After this resolution, the focus shifts to the volatile relationship between the tomboyish Vodka and the proud Daiwa Scarlet. Their constant bickering escalates to the point where Daiwa Scarlet is summoned by the student council and runs away from the academy entirely. Vodka must chase after her rival, leading to a climax that finally channels their mutual obsession into a legendary race against each other. The final arc centers on Tokai Teio, who devises a plan to run a marathon around the entire academy just to get the attention of her idol, Symboli Rudolf. However, during the race, Teio is struck by a leg injury that threatens her career. Heartbroken, she is given a lifeline by her rival, Mejiro McQueen, who invites her to a special training camp to rehabilitate and rediscover her love for running. Throughout these arcs, the horse girls learn that victory is not just about crossing the finish line first, but about the bonds they form and the dreams they support in one another.
