Description
In a run-down shopping street, brothers Fuji and Kiri run a small barbershop as they wait for their father's return. The title Kami Kill is a pun on the Japanese term kami kiru, which means cutting hair. The story follows the two siblings as they struggle to make ends meet and try to revive the neighborhood while keeping their family business afloat. The manga is written by Kazuya Konomoto, known for works such as Odd Taxi and Setoutsumi, and illustrated by Ryou Yamasaki. Every day brings something new to their door in this quirky, heartfelt, and mysterious tale of brothers, barbers, and the oddities that find them. The series is serialized in Shueishas Weekly Young Jump magazine, having launched on August 21, 2025. The narrative focuses on themes of family ties, resilience, and the melancholic reality of maintaining a traditional business in a decaying urban environment. As the brothers await their missing fathers return, the barbershop serves as the epicenter of their daily struggles and small victories, capturing the irony, uncomfortable silences, and unexpected emotional turns that characterize Konomotos storytelling style.
