Description
Amelia Lenia, the daughter of a minor noble from a remote agricultural domain, has been engaged to Reese Thurma since childhood. The union was arranged so Reese could provide the earth magic her land desperately needs, but the two grew to get along well regardless. Everything changes when Reese leaves to attend the Royal Academy of Magic. He becomes distant, stops writing, and when Amelia finally enrolls a year later hoping for answers, she finds herself shunned. Reese has apparently taken up with another woman, and rumors spread that Amelia is standing in the way of his new romance. Her classmates relentlessly bully her.

In this disheartening situation, Amelia encounters an eccentric young man at the academy who shares her passion for agriculture and her fascination with solving the kingdom's worsening crop failures due to increasingly cold weather. This man is Prince Sarge, the Fourth Prince and second in line for the succession. Unlike the upper-class students who mock her, Sarge appreciates Amelia's knowledge and humble dedication to her domain. Along with his charming brothers, including Prince Julius who knows how to use his authority properly, the royal family helps expose the schemes against Amelia. A haughty bully is brought to justice, and Sarge's romantic interest in her becomes clear.

The kingdom of Bedeiht, where magic is commonplace, serves as the primary setting, with much of the story taking place at the Royal Academy of Magic and later expanding to neighboring lands. Amelia's ex-fiancé Reese, who initially abandoned her, ends up imprisoned. However, the narrative focuses not on revenge but on Amelia finding genuine happiness with someone who values her intellect and kindness. She and Sarge bond over their shared nerdiness, spending hours discussing crop rotation and magical solutions to agricultural problems.

As the story progresses, Amelia becomes engaged to Sarge and joins the royal family, who all adore her. Her duties expand to include diplomatic missions to nearby kingdoms experiencing their own agricultural crises. These missions bring the couple to Janaki, a kingdom near the Beltz Empire where a diplomatic visit turns into a kidnapping attempt. Later, Sarge and Amelia travel to the Beltz Empire itself when magical devices meant to alleviate drought malfunction. There, they discover that the empire drains magic at an accelerated rate, making matters worse rather than better. While investigating, they become entangled in a succession war and foil an assassination attempt. The couple also deals with lingering interference from Reese and his new paramour, who remain determined to ruin Amelia's reputation despite their imprisonment.

Throughout the series, Amelia struggles with impostor syndrome, refusing to accept compliments and downplaying her own role in solving the kingdom's problems. Yet her practical ideas and sincere dedication prove essential. The narrative ends with a pile of weddings, as Amelia and Sarge finally marry, followed by a honeymoon that involves returning to her hometown to collect crop samples. The Academy of Magic itself undergoes reforms to prevent the kind of bullying Amelia initially endured. While the story has moments of danger, including near-kidnappings and a locked magical basement, the tone remains consistently warm and idealistic, focused on a shy nerdy girl finding love with a handsome prince who adores her for exactly who she is.
