In the small kingdom of Arland, a young and somewhat lazy alchemist named Rorolina Frixell, known as Rorona, lives with her teacher Astrid Zexis and her assistant Hom. Alchemy has fallen out of favor, and the royal government gives Rorona’s atelier a three‑year review period: if she cannot prove the craft’s usefulness, her workshop will be shut down. Rorona must complete a series of official assignments while also helping the townspeople, all while struggling against her own tendency to slack off. The manga centers on three friends: Rorona, the earnest noble Cordelia von Feuerbach, and the cheerful Lionela Heinze, whose bond deepens as they work together to create something that can bring smiles to others. Alongside them are the stern knight Sterkenburg Cranach and the adventurer Esty Erhard.
