Punie Tanaka is the princess of Magical Land, a realm where magic and martial prowess determine the right to rule. To earn her place as the next queen, she must complete a trial by transferring into a Japanese high school as an ordinary student. Her arrival, however, attracts a relentless stream of assassins, rival magical beings, and jealous classmates who all want her dead. Punie appears sweet and innocent, but when provoked she responds with overwhelming violence, combining cartoonish magic with brutal submission holds and physical combat.

The setting shifts between the mundane halls of her new school and the bizarre, often surreal world of Magical Land. Punie is joined by a hyperactive mascot creature named Paya-tan, who arrives from the Mascot Village after a violent duel. Notable arcs include a school festival where Punie uses her Miracle Rod to stop a gang from ruining a curry booth, a midterm exam that devolves into a cheating contest against a sadistic teacher, and a sports festival featuring a cavalry battle that reenacts moments from Japanese history. Beneath the absurd humor and graphic violence, a loose overarching threat emerges as Punie’s enemies form temporary alliances, forcing her to defend her claim to the throne while navigating the chaos of teenage life.
