Eight years after the death of a fellow student named Kimura, a threatening letter arrives at the homes of four graduates of Kei-ei University’s Drama Research Society. The letter commands them to gather at the Hinazuki Hot Spring Inn “Gokuraku” on January 9, 2024, at 2 PM if they want to learn the truth of who killed Kimura. The four summoned are Niwata, Sakimoto, Hatori, and Inami. On the night Kimura died, all four were fourth-year members of the drama club, and each carries a secret from that night that they have never revealed. As they come together at the remote inn, the story unfolds through their conflicting memories, buried resentments, and the pressure of being forced to revisit a traumatic event that has shaped their lives. The narrative revolves around the mystery of Kimura’s death, the hidden truths among the former club members, and the psychological confrontations that take place as the sealed past is reopened. The manga adapts the original novel by Reisuke Kaneko as part of his “Dead Trilogy,” with art by Tamane Tashika. The setting shifts between the tense reunion at the hot spring inn and flashbacks to the group’s university days, gradually building a web of deception, guilt, and the lingering question of what really happened to Kimura.
