There she meets a beautiful, androgynous boy, and the two share a fleeting summer romance. This story is the opening narrative in an anthology series that collects separate, standalone tales centered on youth, first love, and the bittersweet ache of growing up. The second story in the same volume shifts focus to a different high school girl, one who is quietly suffering through an unrequited crush.
