Shosuke Kondo is a high school student who struggles in every area of life: academics, sports, and relationships. One day, a small bean-shaped robot from the future named Chuck Beans materializes in his desk drawer, claiming to have come to change Shosuke’s destiny. Rather than welcome the robot into his home as the setup of a familiar sci-fi story would dictate, Shosuke flatly refuses to let the bean inside. The series follows the absurd comedic struggle that results, as Chuck Beans desperately tries to earn Shosuke’s trust and secure a place as a live-in helper, while Shosuke, a stubbornly realistic and self-reliant teenager, keeps devising ways to eject the robot from his life.
