A school where every student is assigned a ranking that determines the social hierarchy. At the top stands Shikima, the A-ranked ideal of academic and athletic perfection. At the bottom is Atsuki, an E-ranked outcast subjected to relentless bullying. Despite the gulf between them, Shikima begins experiencing sudden blackouts during class. When he regains consciousness, he discovers that in his absence his body has acted on its own: defending Atsuki, striking his tormentors, and making inexplicable advances toward the lowest-ranked classmate.
