Manga
Description
Set in the late 1990s, a period of shifting societal contours, the stories in this collection center on people wrestling with raw and often uncomfortable emotions. Joy, sorrow, anguish, desire, dissatisfaction, and anxiety surface as characters confront the messier aspects of being human. The narratives are driven by individuals who struggle, squirm, and lash out in their attempts to live, love, and connect. One featured story, "Kyōjin Isho" (Madman's Testament), encapsulates this spirit with a defiant declaration: "Who's going to die? Live, live, live to the fullest, be more ashamed, become a more unpleasant person, spew more abuse!! Being human is all about being ashamed!!" The collection brings together a selection of short works originally published in the 1998 and 1999 doujinshi volumes "Shundō" and "Zoku Shundō," alongside previously uncollected material and newly drawn pages, all showcasing the intense, impulsive energy of a young creator at the end of the twentieth century.
