Description
Yoshida, a 26-year-old salaryman, returns home one evening after being rejected by his long-time crush and boss, Airi Gotou. To his surprise, he finds a high school girl, Sayu Ogiwara, sitting outside his apartment. Sayu, who has run away from her home in Hokkaido, offers him her body in exchange for a place to stay. Despite his initial shock and reluctance, Yoshida refuses her offer but allows her to stay the night. Over time, he agrees to let her remain in his apartment under the condition that she does not engage in any sexual activities and helps with household chores.

As the story progresses, it becomes clear that Sayu has a troubled past. She left her home after a series of traumatic events, including the death of her brother and the emotional neglect from her parents. During her journey, she resorted to exchanging sexual favors for shelter and survival, which left her emotionally scarred. Yoshida, despite his own struggles and insecurities, becomes a stabilizing presence in her life, offering her a safe environment and a sense of normalcy.

The narrative explores the dynamics between Yoshida and Sayu as they navigate their unconventional living arrangement. Yoshida’s colleagues and acquaintances, including his boss Airi Gotou and his friend Hashimoto, become involved in the situation, adding layers of complexity to the story. Airi, who harbors feelings for Yoshida, becomes increasingly curious about his relationship with Sayu, while Hashimoto provides a pragmatic perspective on the situation.

Sayu’s presence forces Yoshida to confront his own loneliness and emotional vulnerabilities. At the same time, Yoshida’s kindness and stability help Sayu begin to heal from her past traumas. The story delves into themes of trust, redemption, and the impact of human connection, as both characters gradually open up to each other and those around them.

The manga balances moments of emotional depth with lighter, everyday interactions, creating a nuanced portrayal of its characters. As Sayu’s past is slowly revealed, the narrative examines the societal and personal factors that led to her situation, offering a thoughtful exploration of her struggles and growth. Yoshida’s journey, meanwhile, highlights his evolving sense of responsibility and his efforts to support Sayu while grappling with his own feelings and relationships.

Through its exploration of complex characters and their intertwined lives, the series presents a compelling narrative that examines the challenges of overcoming past wounds and finding a path toward healing and self-discovery.
