Description
Makoto Misumi, an ordinary high school student, is unexpectedly transported to a fantasy world after his parents, who were once inhabitants of that realm, made a pact with the goddess Tsukuyomi. However, upon arrival, the goddess deems him unattractive and unworthy of being her chosen hero, stripping him of his heroic status and exiling him to the wastelands of the world. Despite this rejection, Makoto retains the unique abilities granted by his parents, including enhanced physical capabilities, language comprehension, and a connection to the moon's power.
Stranded in a harsh environment, Makoto encounters various non-human races, including dragons, demi-humans, and spirits, who become his allies. He forms a close bond with two key companions: Tomoe, a powerful dragon who takes the form of a beautiful woman and serves as his loyal retainer, and Mio, a spider-like demi-human with immense strength and a fierce devotion to him. Together, they navigate the challenges of the world, which is rife with political intrigue, racial tensions, and divine interference.
Makoto's journey is marked by his efforts to build a new life and establish a place where he and his companions can thrive. He founds a settlement called Asora, a hidden sanctuary that grows into a thriving community for outcasts and non-human races. As he gains influence and power, Makoto becomes entangled in the conflicts between humans, demi-humans, and the gods themselves. His actions often challenge the established order, as he seeks to create a world where all races can coexist peacefully, free from the whims of the gods.
The narrative explores themes of identity, belonging, and the consequences of divine intervention. Makoto's rejection by the goddess and his subsequent rise to prominence highlight his resilience and determination to forge his own path. The series balances action, humor, and world-building, with a focus on the relationships between Makoto and his companions, as well as the evolving dynamics of the fantasy world. The story delves into the complexities of power, morality, and the impact of one's choices, offering a layered and engaging tale within a richly developed setting.
