In Episode 8 of "Dekiru Neko wa Kyou mo Yuuutsu," Yukichi meets Yume, who is holding a kitten in a box. Yume hopes to find a new home for the kitten, so Yukichi helps her take the animal to a woman he knows. The woman uses her network to ensure the kitten has a safe future. Yume’s mother, who is worried about her daughter’s whereabouts, eventually finds the two.

On the way home, Yukichi comes across a warning poster about a dangerous person lurking in the area. This makes him worry about his friend Saku, who is running late. While waiting near the station, he tries to intervene in a situation involving a rude man but is rescued by Saku when the situation escalates.

The episode includes a flashback to when Yukichi was a stray kitten and was adopted by Saku. Although Yukichi is initially skeptical because Saku’s home is in poor condition, he grows fond of her due to her compassion and kindness. Saku goes out of her way to make Yukichi feel comfortable, even buying him food and setting up a small living space for him while she sleeps amidst the chaos. Touched by this, Yukichi takes it upon himself to clean the house the next day while Saku is at work, feeling obligated to repay her kindness.
