This year's July issue of Kodansha magazine Monthly Shonen Sirius announced that Hitsuji Yamada's manga The Masterful Cat Is Depressed Again Today (Dekiru Neko wa Kyou mo Yuuutsu) will be made into a TV anime in 2023.

Hitsuji Yamada started drawing the slice-of-life comedy manga as a web comic on comico's challenge section in October 2017. In August 2018, the manga's serial story began in Suiyoubi no Sirius magazine. Dekiru Neko wa Kyou mo Yuuutsu has a cumulative circulation of 900,000 copies.
