Dragon Age fans have something to look forward to. Next year, following the text version, an anime adaptation of the successful action RPG is set to hit the big screens.
After the dark story of the shadowy descendants and the Grey Wardens was already presented in the game as well as in literary form, an anime based on EA's most successful action RPG is set to release soon.
A partnership with FUNimation Entertainment has recently been established, according to BioWare. Filming for the movie began in early May, and now they are eagerly awaiting the finished product, which, however, won’t hit the screens until next year.
"Anime is a fantastic medium for us to continue the rich Dragon Age story," explained Mark Darrah, Executive Producer for the Dragon Age franchise. The partnership with FUNimation also ensures that viewers will be treated to excellent quality as well as ample entertainment, and not just Dragon Age fans will get their money's worth.
Additionally, they are thrilled to have found common ground with EA and BioWare to bring the Dragon Age anime production to life. Gen Fukunaga, President of FUNimation, further explained that the classic anime style and storytelling will be used to create a film that will expand upon the classic BioWare legends.
