Megumi's actions are a desperate yet strategic move, sacrificing himself for a greater goal.

Sukuna saves Shigemo to keep Megumi alive, as their fates are linked through the ritual. Sukuna faces Mahoraga, showcasing his mastery of cursed techniques and combat skills. He recognizes Mahoraga's unique adaptability, which allows it to counter any attack. Sukuna deploys his Domain Expansion: Malevolent Shrine and employs advanced techniques to overwhelm Mahoraga. His attack causes massive destruction in Shibuya, demonstrating his overwhelming power. Sukuna defeats Mahoraga, ends the exorcism ritual, and indirectly saves Megumi. Shigemo, believing he has escaped, is ultimately killed by the aftermath of Sukuna's attack.

Sukuna returns control to Yuji, who awakens amid the devastation in Shibuya.
