The Faraway Paladin Light Novels are getting a TV anime in October

It has been announced that the light novel series The Faraway Paladin (Saihate no Paladin) by author Kanata Yanagino and illustrator Kususaga Rin has inspired a TV anime adaptation, which will premiere in October.

Yuu Nobuta (High School Fleet, World's End Harem, Maesetsu! Opening Act) is directing the anime at Children's Playground Entertainment. Tatsuya Takahashi (Wise Man's Grandchild, World's End Harem, Eromanga Sensei) is overseeing the series scripts, and Koji Haneda (Scar-red Rider XechS, Initial D Legend Trilogy) is designing the characters.

J-Novel Club describes the story as follows:

In a city of the dead, long ruined and far removed from human civilization, lives a single human child. His name is Will, and he is raised by three undead: the hearty skeletal warrior Blood, the graceful mummified priestess Mary, and the quirky ghost wizard Gus. The three shower the boy with love and teach him everything they know. But one day, Will begins to wonder: "Who am I?"

Will must unravel the secrets of the faraway land of the dead and uncover the hidden pasts of the undead. He must learn of the love and mercy of the good gods and the hypocrisy and madness of the evil gods. And once he knows it all, the boy will take his first step on the path to becoming a paladin.
